We know how difficult it can be for you as a clinician to maintain boundaries between work and life. When your waiting list starts to grow, it can be tempting to try and fit patients in wherever you can – at the beginning of the day, over your lunch hour, at the end of the day, or even on your days off!

From speaking to many of our clients over the last few months, we know that this has become even more prevalent over the past year since clinics have been allowed to re-open, as many clinics are busier than ever with long waiting lists! As a clinician, we know that you want to be able to help as many people as you can, which makes it even harder for you to maintain those boundaries.

Just as you would recommend certain things to your patients, we would like to recommend this to you: make sure you maintain your boundaries and keep a healthy work-life balance. 

It’s so important that you make time for yourself and look after yourself, as this will help you to be able to better serve your patients. The more patients you try to fit in, the more you run the risk of exhausting yourself and burning out. 

So, we’d like to recommend that you take a good look at your schedule and think about what really helps you to maintain your health and energy, and include more of it in your schedule. This will ultimately help you to ensure that you can continue to provide care to your patients.
