Supporting Mind

At Painless Practice, supporting mental health is deeply personal.

Each year, we raise money for Mind, a charity that provides advice, support and advocacy for people experiencing mental health challenges.

This cause is especially close to Celia’s heart. In 2014, her husband took his own life, leaving Celia and their two teenage daughters to navigate an unimaginable time. The experience shaped not only her personal journey, but her belief in the importance of open conversations, support networks and accessible mental health resources.

Since then, fundraising for Mind has become an important part of Painless Practice.

Most years, we host a charity golf day, bringing together our community to raise funds and awareness.

In 2025, following the 10th anniversary of his death, Celia’s daughter chose to run a marathon in memory of her Dad. She convinced Celia — proudly “the 5km girl” — to train for and run a half marathon alongside her. Together, after months of preparation, they travelled to Edinburgh and completed the full and half marathon in his honour.

Supporting Mind is our way of turning loss into action and continuing to champion the importance of mental wellbeing for individuals, families and business owners alike.

Supporting a local football club

Painless practice proudly sponsors a local football league – Berks County. Celia turns up on the side of the pitch come rain or shine with oranges and mars bars for half time. Celia and her fiancé host an annual awards day for the team all of whom have turned into extended family. It is amazing be part of a group of people from different walks of life have connection and a higher sense of purpose

Other charities

Over the years we have supported many other charities including Choko, set up to support a community in South Africa. Our founder, now retired, James Butler, was very involved in the charity. We have also supported Daisy’s Dream and Steps amongst many others in smaller ways
